I was born in the mountains of eastern British Columbia... in an extremely cold climate... in an extremely small town. I was exposed to the beauty of nature at a very young age and spent some of my youngest memories growing up on the coast near and around Powell River (hippie parents, bears, sinking boats, near death etc.) the usual experiences a small boy uses to shape and define himself. I have always felt the pull and beauty of nature to be something truly transcendent and although I don't subscribe to any theological practice in particullar when one considers the perfections and limitless systems found within nature, I think its divinity is hard to deny. It is through this conception of nature as a divine system that I find the inspiration for my work.
I began attending Emily Carr University Of Art and Design in 2004, and now after six years I am at the end of my formal education. During my time at Emily Carr I have studied painting, drawing, photography, design and (my current passion) ceramics. I am extremely grateful for all of the direction that my professors have given me and even more grateful for the support and direction of my fellow students.
I am excited to take the knowledge that I have gained and create a life that is full of exploration and expression within the art world.
